Stephanie+Kevin met in the Peace Corp. Working in the same surroundings, though with different jobs. They fell in love and the rest, as they say, is history. I had the pleasure of meeting them and their two precious little boys over breakfast with a dear friend of Kevin’s sister while she was visiting from out of town a year ago (How’s that for seven degrees of separation?) When Stephanie and Kevin decided to make it “official” I was beyond delighted when she contacted me about being their photographer.
A small, simple wedding at Chapel Dulcinea in south Austin, with a mainly all-family guest list of 20. My co-desinger, Jessica Luttrell, and I designed and styled this precious celebration and further collaborated with officiant Rick of Caliber Oak, musical duo Hem+Haw , and Paige’s Bakehouse to create the perfect party for this wonderful couple. Stephanie chose a color palette of teal, yellow and platinum using Kevin’s tie and suit as inspiration. The result couldn’t have been more lovely! It was such a joy being part of such a priceless day and I hope you’ll enjoy being a guest at their wedding here.
Kevin’s sister, Charla, assisted him in getting ready.
One of the lovely floral designs Jessica created. I love the teal and grey yarn balls!

The bridal florals were designed by a friend of the family and they were simply perfect!

Kevin proposed to Stephanie by spray painting their master bedroom floor with orange paint during a remodel. She asked me to integrate it into their wedding, so here you have it. A hand painted “guest book” that friends and family signed .
Here comes the bride.
Ringing the chapel bell after their announcement of marriage. So precious!

A sparkler exit -what could be better? Always a favorite of mine! Congratulations, Stephanie+Kevin! I am so delighted I got to be part of designing and sharing your beautiful day. Thank you so much for providing me the honor of being a collaborator in your celebration.

Savings, privacy and expedience. That’s the short answer.
Chapel Dulcinea offers a free wedding venue. Yes, I said FREE. Stephanie+Kevin were able to have a beautiful wedding at a fraction of the cost while still having their nearest and dearest gather to celebrate. Another fabulous venue is The Chapel at Caliber Oak that Rick, the officiant of this wedding, owns. Both venues are drop-dead gorgeous and offer the perfect answer to couples wanting to save while still having beautiful celebrations.
I loved how so many personal touches were added to this wedding. The live music by Hem+Haw, Rick’s caring touch as officiant, the hand-made details Jessica and I added to the set up and design and the delicious and beautiful treats from Paige’s Bakehouse. All while being surrounded by friends and family with a go-with-the-flow wedding evening. This is how love should be celebrated. Exactly the way you’ve always wanted it. As you continue planning your wedding, keep in the forefront of your mind what you truly want -what is most important to you as you design your day. You’ll be far happier with the results than if you try to fit with convention. And have a totally unique and custom-fit celebration. Happy planning to my brides-to-be and congratulations, Stephanie+Kevin!
